Antenatal care

Antenatal care, also known as prenatal care, is a type of preventative health care. Its goal is to provide regular check-ups that allows your doctor to treat and prevent potential health problems throughout the course of the pregnancy and to promote healthy lifestyles that benefit both mother and child. During check-ups, you will receive medical information about the changes that happen to your body during pregnancy and nutrition including prenatal vitamins. Recommendations on management and healthy lifestyle changes are also made during regular check-ups. Early pregnancy services

We provide care for women with problems in early pregnancy. The commonest reasons women would need to be seen are bleeding and/ or pain with a positive pregnancy test. We can provide investigations such as blood tests and ultrasounds within 24 to 48 hours as needed.

Postnatal Care

Postnatal care is the individualized care provided to meet the needs of a mother and her baby following childbirth. Although the postnatal period is uncomplicated for most women and babies, care during this period needs to address any variation from expected recovery after birth. Labour and delivery

What is labour and delivery? At the end of the third trimester of pregnancy, your body will begin to show signs that it is time for your baby to be born. The process that leads to the birth of your baby is called labour and delivery. Every labour and delivery includes certain stages, but each birth is unique. Even if you have had a baby before, the next time will be different. Giving birth to a baby is hard work. It can also be scary, thrilling, and unpredictable. Learning all you can ahead of time will help you be ready when your time comes. We will help you during the antenatal period to prepare for this exciting event. You can register for your delivery with us at either labour MD Alliance Birthing Center or BayView Hospital.
